Away cup match

Guys, This is Pat's VIRGIN report.

Our 3rd cup game this week up against the SIKHS, where by losing is not a option. Team talk by the manager was to start the team with a 5-4-1 formation. Incepcion started the game by pressuring the opponent high to distrupt SIKHS flowing passing game. A free kick taken from our own half towards the oppoent box was headed down by Patrick to Jansen who beautifully flick over a opponent to find Colin totally unmarked in the box. Without fail, our bao jia durian picker drove low into the bottom corner. 1-0 to Incepcion. However, less than 5 mins after restart, Sikhs manage to even the score line with a half volley to beat our in form Sherman. With the score at 1-1, Sikhs has multiple attempts to break our 5 man defence. A cross from the right by Sikhs appeared to be out of play but was waved play on by the ref. Sikhs took advantage to take the lead by scoring from the near post while our defenders was appealing to the ref. (Lesson to learn: PLAY TO THE WHISTLE!!!!!) 10mins before the half time . Harold manage to break away on the left wing and to the whole team suprise.. He make a lay back for juinn (YES.... HAROLD MADE A LAY BACK) to sent an inch perfect cross in to find Loy even the score line with a sublime hearder past the on rushing keeper. Half time score at 2-2

A better Attack play from incepcion at start of the 2nd half , a good team play at the midfield from Jansen to find a sprinting jerome down the right and jerome square in a ball toward Henry with just the goal keeper already beated and stranded, Henry decide to make things interesting by missing goal keeper and the goal. (Henry did make a quick exit after the game to avoid abuses from us.) Both teams had chances to break the deadlock but were not able to capitalise on it.

With the time is running out, Sikhs won a penalty in the final 5mins of the game. Colin fainted on the ground when the decision is given. Pat sat on the half way line like an AH Beng waiting for a fight to happen. But Sherman had other ideas as he usied his same old trick by enticing the penalty taker to shoot to his right and did a great punch out to save the team from their 1st CUP defeated.

Final score 2-2.

For the 2nd week in a row, we have managed to not concede in the 2nd half. Kudos to the team and esp the MID/DEF for their hard running and effort.

This week MoM goes to Loy for his non stop running and persistent fouling in the middle to disrupt Sikhs passing play. He added an important equalising goal as well. Good job.

SPECIAL THANKS TO PAT FOR TAKING THIS REPORT WRITING RESPONSIBILITY THIS WEEK. VERY WELL WRITTEN AND MAY THERE BE MORE TO COME!!!!!!
