It's been quite some time since we played at Pasir Ris Sec School and we were welcomed with a scorching hot sun.
However, we started really well and got the lead within 5mins. A pinpoint through ball from Benny, saw our manager racing through amid cries for offside and he somehow scored. Moments later, Benny turned villain as he lost control of the ball inside our box and attempts to make up for it, he was deemed to bring down the opponent. The sun was indeed shining on us as the weak penalty was saved by the foot by Sherman and the rebound was skied. Max came on shortly and won a penalty after he was floored. Colin made no mistake even though it was miskick. HT 2-0.
No half time pep talk by our boss but he made some changes positions wise. We changed to 4-5-1 with Jansen moving up as DM and Kee taking over at the back. We were coping well and had quite a number of chances which we failed to capitalize. Our Boss finally completed his hattrick when he made an intelligent run in between 2 players to get onto Benny's slide rule pass.
We were crusing with 5mins remaining and a foul on Max was unseen by the ref that allowed the opponent to pull one back. Max came back with a vengeance as his through ball to Stuart saw him race into the box and his cross cut shot looped pass the keeper. The last action of the match came from a corner which Sherman only managed to palm into the goal. Wasn't sure did it hit Kee's head on the way in or not though. (he could claim it if he wants the record for the most own goals though) ??
Anyway, a good turnout and enjoyable game which we won 4-2 against a team with several japs. Well done guys!
