Down But NEVER Out. We Got A Pat Trick

<p>Dark skies all over SG threatened the game but cleared just in time. Our opponents were late as they slowly streamed in while we were all warming up. Hearts fell as our opponents looked like our nephews/sons. Nevertheless, we sucked it in and got on with the game. Both teams had their chances but failed to capitalize on them. Opponents were a young fit passing team, playing 1 touch football. We finally conceded our 1st goal half way of the 1st half. In the last min of the 1st half, Darly thumped his usual longrange missile from our half towards our opponent penalty box and our tallest player Pat, who is still half a head shorter than their tallest player, got in front of him and flicked the ball over the stranded keeper. 1-1 right on the death of half time.

<p>2nd half started and soon our opponents got their 2nd when they scored from inside our box. A free kick was awarded to us on the half way line. Damo tried to shoot from there. (That was what I was told). It turned out to be a horrendous shot but an excellent cross. Pat once again got his head to the ball to make it 2-2. We were not able to hold on as our young opponents scored their 3rd goal. Heads fell a little but a fantastic thru pass from Loy to the surging and on fire Pat reaped our just rewards as Pat slipped the ball pass their keeper to equalize for us! 3-3.

<p>Final scored was all square as our opponents were left wondering how they did not manage to win this team of Uncles. We were never ever able to match them in terms of speed and fitness. We made it up with our HEART.
