It was gloomy skies when we arrive at the pitch. Rain did fall. Thunder did sound. Lightning struck a few times too. It was that bad and the game didn't seem like it's going to happen, especially since the opponents were still strolling in at 5.10pm when all of us were ready for kickoff. Finally, it did get underway.

We started well. Max was his usual busy self, creating many chances for himself. Patrick gave Colin his first chance in the 1st 10 minutes with a cross. Obviously, his pre-game practice was working out. But Colin couldn't connect and the ball spun well wide. We created slightly more chances and were hardly troubled at the back. 1st half ended 0-0.

2nd half began a little differently and we pressed higher with better results. Causing the opponents to lose the ball in the middle, Colin got the ball at the edge of the box. Now, this is Colin. Colin, remember. So obviously everyone thought he would shoot, but maybe he thought otherwise, having failed miserably on several instances today. So he slot the ball to Max who went into the box and shot past the goalkeeper into the bottom left corner. Finally, we took the lead. Several other chances came for us, including an attempted scissors kick by Colin. Even Bee was up there trying to be striker. Pikachu was having a field day as right wing, being able to impose himself on the small sized left back. Max thought he was only 11 years old. We then got the 2nd goal, when Pikachu laid it off for Patrick at the top of the box to shoot into goal. At this time, it was getting dark and couldn't really see much. Game ended 2-0.

Well done everyone. I must say Bee's tenacity and Pikachu's effort stood out today. I was impressed. The others like Colin (who surprisingly didn't score), Jansen (who didn't make any mistake) and Dave (who had a great game at DM) were instrumental in helping us keep a clean sheet and a victory. Good luck to all for the next 2 weeks.
