Hyde United Vs Glodwick Dynamos (4-3)

Another cracking result against a good physical team. We are in great form at the minute and the lads should be proud of how much we have come on!

As well as being physical, Glodwick did play the ball round quite well but another pleasing aspect was how quickly the lads worked out what they were doing and adapted to countering it.

We went 1-0 down as the 13 year old up front broke away and finished well but again the lads kept their heads and were back level in no time with Elijah following in a shot from

Tommy. They went back ahead before Elijah finished a good move down the right between him and Tommy before finishing well into the corner from distance. Tommy then got the goal his work had deserved with a great free kick into the top corner (video to follow!) just before half time.

3-2 up at half time we were happy but knew there was work still to be done. The wind would be against us so we discussed how to combat that and manage the game.

A much tighter second half with Robbie making some good stops before a Freddie free kick caused havoc and one of their defenders decided he wanted to be a keeper, keeping it out with his hand. Freddie was on penalty duty and whilst his initial shot was saved he stayed alert to hammer home the rebound. From there I thought we controlled the game quite well but the last minutes were made nervy with a late Glodwick goal. The VAR from behind the goal (you lot ??) reliably tell me it didn’t cross the line but again the lads shook it off well and shut the game down for the very pleasing win!

A great effort from everyone who have all upped their levels. This weeks man of the match was Tommy, great workrate and skill today to get us up the pitch countless times and chipping in with a goal and 2 assists. Well done Tommy! ??
