Our first win of the season and most definitely deserved! We spoke before the game about being aggressive, first to every ball and to never stop battling and every single one of them did it and we got our reward ??!
We have started slow the last few weeks so it was great to see us start on the front foot and take the game to Droylsden. An early effort from Tommy looked like it had crept over the line but the ref did not give it. Again kudos to the lads for not letting it bother them and keep pushing ??.
The breakthrough came with Freddie getting his first of the season. Tommy added another before the break from the penalty spot to give us a deserved 2-0 lead at half time ??.
We talked at half time about the job only being half done and the work rate and aggression had to continue, which it did. Tommy got his second of the game before Oscar ran through most of the opposition to grab his second of the season and topping with a celebration that hurt my knees never mind his ??. Tommy put the icing on the cake completing his hat trick with a long range strike into the bottom corner to put us 5-0 up ??????.
Every one of the lads give their all today, the work rate was outstanding and a real base for us to build from. Well done everyone ??.
Elijah was our PotM this week. As requested, he was first to every ball, got the ball down and got us playing. Unlucky not to get a goal himself but a real rock in midfield and defence. His teammates unanimously shouted his name when I started to award which shows how much they appreciate his performance today! Well done Elijah! ??
So chuffed for all the lads, they have never given up and deserve to enjoy this win, the first of many! Have a great weekend everyone! ??
