Hyde United Vs Chadderton (2-3)

The cup run comes to an end but I think I will be asking myself all weekend how we lost that one. ???????

The first half was incredible, we played some great footy and were a joy to watch. All players were passing around Chadderton, making good runs and supporting each other. We should have took the lead when Elliot’s defected shot crossed the line but the ref did not see. The lads didn’t let that deter them though and kept playing and shortly after we took the lead. Henry battled for the ball in Midfield and created himself some space to smash one in to the corner. Not to long later Freddie and Tommy combined well down the left with Tommy finishing well to put us in a deserved 2 goal lead. We then lost a bit of focus and conceded from a long ball over the top with their player finishing well. ????

It was 2-1 at the break which flattered them, we spoke about continuing to play the ball around and stay on top.

Unfortunately that didn’t happen and we switched off and stopped passing it around as we did in the first half which let them back in. They scored 2 goals in quick succession before we woke up again and started to play. We put their goal under siege in the last 10 but couldn’t get the equaliser the lads fully deserved. ??

A sickener to take but we must focus on the positives of the first half and ensure we keep that up for a full game going forward. ??

The captains man of the match awarded by Hugo was Elliot today for his non stop drive and work to win the ball and get us forward. The managers player was Freddie, again non stop running down the left both in attack and defence and great combination work with his teammates. Well done both! ??
