Off the back of a few draws and defeats, we challenged the boys to bring a better attitude into this week's game, and we certainly got that. There was far more enthusiasm and willingness to win every challenge which was superb to see. Every player was very good today.
Right from the off, we pressed and a through ball from Toby, saw Ashley slot home. After 17 minutes it was 2. Siddarths effort was parried and Ash followed up. He completed his hat trick from following in a free kick from Zak. Ash turned and finished well for a 1st half hattrick.
The confidence set the boys up well and we made it 4, before the break. Austin lovely ball over the top saw Zak who unselfish squared to Owen for a tap in.
We wanted to maintain the effort in today 2nd half and we did. We had a lot of chances and the keeper made some good saves. Siddarth won the ball high on the right a d his low show clipped the post and Zak had an easy tap in. To round off, a through ball to Rory saw him cut back, turned and hit a lovely finish across the keeper woth his right foot. There was still time for a penalty miss from the opposition and a great save on the line when Ash had a header from 2 yards!
All together it was a superb effort. Siddarth was immense, driving forward with skill and strength, Ash was clinical and the whole team fought for everything. The boys should be very proud, thats the standard they have now set for themselves.
