Early start today for an away trip to Grappenhall in the league this morning for Vipers. The weather threatened but held off and we started very brightly.
Pressing high, Ash took it forward, Owen took it on and the nudged it to Toby who finished well within the 2 minutes. We played the half quite well and created enough chances to score more with good chances for Ash and Siddarth, but were undone by 2 through balls. Questionable offsides on both but finished well.
2-1 down at the break but we regrouped well. Franek came into left back and was strong and biting in the tackle. Archie and Toby fought for everything in midfield with Ash linking up well with Owen, Siddarth and Rory.
Mid way through the half Franek played it inside and Toby beat a man before unleashing a rocket into the top corner. We pushed hard for a winner, a few efforts that were close and their keeper making a good save coming out to thwart Archie near the end. Pretty solid defensive display today with Austin and Tymon and Rory and Franek filling in well too. On another day we could have scored 3 or 4 if we take out chances but the boys showed good character.
A hard fought game played in good spirits today. On to next week. Well done boys.
