Away league match
The Lawns returned to winning ways with a comprehensive demolition of The View. With a few tweaks in formation and lineup, Lawns came flying out of the traps when Luke latched onto a beautiful through ball and smashed home the opener after just 25 seconds. The View were troubled with The Lawns constant running and passing and soon found themselves 2 down when Jack tucked the ball away for yet another goal. Lawns kept going and were rewarded a penalty when the ball struck a View defenders arm, and Jack stepped up to tuck away another. The View started to creep back in and worked through some set pieces but The Lawns defence held firm. Lawns sensed more goals and before half time, Luke delivered a corner which Ben G tucked away on the half volley to send The Lawns in 4-0 up at the break.
The second half, The view began to press further up the field to try and get themselves something out of the game, but left space at the back which The Lawns frequently looked to exploit with Luke and Jack both going close several times. The Lawns grabbed a deserved fifth when Adam B tucked away his second of the season with a well taken finish. The View kept trying and were rewarded when a shot form the edge of box found its way through a crowd and past a stranded Joe in goal. Disappointed to have given away the clean sheet, Lawns went back up the other end and after consecutive flick-ons in the build up from Craig and Ben G, Luke scored his second of the game. The view soon found themselves with another goal, after Lewis handled the ball on the Lawns line and received his marching orders and the resultant penalty was dispatched into the net. The Lawns kept going and created a few more chances at the end before the ref blew to give the Lawns their first win of 2017
