Hove Put In A Shift But Narrowly Lose 2-1

The Lawns slipped to an undeserved defeat against an average Sussex Coast FC. The Lawns were looking to bounce back after a bad run of results and started the game brightly, taking the game to Sussex Coast and creating chances which unfortunately couldn't be put away. Whilst still on top, Sussex Coast won a highly debatable penalty which they put away to take the lead. Lawns were not disheartened and kept going and came close to scoring when the keeper stopped Craig's effort at the near post.

At half time, the Lawns were forced into a change with injured skipper Gav coming off and tweak in positions but still kept going and again looked dangerous going forward. However, a lapse in concentration allowed Sussex to head in a second goal. Lawns pushed forward and were rewarded after a sustained spell of pressure, Ben G played a beautiful ball through to Craig who dispatched the ball past the keeper. Lawns kept pushing right to the end and kept creating chances and winning the ball back but ultimately an equaliser could not be found.

Man Of The Match: Ben G - With several players putting in outstanding performances, it was a tough call, but Ben G worked his socks off and continually looked dangerous going forward so he wins the MOTM gong.
