In the final game of the season, The Lawns put in a spirited display but couldn't get the points. On a sunny day, win a rock hard pitch making the bounce uneven, The Lawns were slow to get going and the Roman's scored 2 quick goals to take an early lead. Lawns tried to get back into it, and created some near chances but couldn't find a way to get the ball in the net, with the wood-work coming to the defences aid. The Romans came back and scored 2 more to leave them with a 4-0 lead at half time.
The second half was a different game as The Lawns started to play some good football and create more chances. Joe J was causing constant terror against the Roman's mouthy right back including a sumptuous nutmeg, and constant running,and Chris O'Malley was keeping the scoreline down with some great work in goal. Lawns kept pushing and after the introduction of Greenough and Dan, they're chances came. Dan curled one effort onto the post, was then taken out by the Roman's keeper, however the fall was deemed a touch theatrical and no penalty was awarded. But in the final minutes, Lewis managed to poke the ball to Dan who turned it into the net, to give The Lawns a consolation goal that their efforts deserved.
