Match Report - PRESTON DYNAMOS (Rottingdean) FIRST - 17 Dec 2017

Hove's losing streak continued this morning with a loss against high flying Preston Dynamos in Rottingdean.

The game was essentially lost in the first half where we put in a largely abject performance conceding 2 early goals and a third shortly before half time. Once again we looked low on confidence, lacked composure and on many occasions had very little shape to our play. Our defensive line wasn't what it should be and I thought we got out a bit with that for a couple of their goals

We changed at half time switching the formation and it did us the world of good. We had a good chat at half time with lots of players giving their opinions and it seemed yo revitalise us as we scored twice in the next 10 minutes and looked like we would go on to get something out of the game. Unfortunately this wasn't the case as a lofted deflection went in with 10 minutes to play and it was game over.

Man of the match: For the 2 goals I give it to Jack. He was one player in particular who was lively throughout the game and, particularly in the first half, worked to try and make things happen when as a team we were struggling.

Special mention also to Samuel Wynne Pennels in goal who was unlucky to concede 4 today

My thoughts are that we have to come out next game and play like we did second half. We were by far the better team there and shouldn't fear anyone in our league playing like that. We've got good players but that isn't enough on its own at the moment. We need leaders to come out and get us the wins that we are lacking right now.
