<p>Hove Lawns opened the season with a 3-0 defeat against Preston Dynamos. With a late change to the starting 11 due to illness to Owen, Josh started upfront with Scott. The midfield l-r made up of Cocky, Ben Groucutt, Gav, Kike and Calum. A back 3 of Ross, Joe and Lewis with Rich in goal. Matt, Chris and Craig made up the subs. The first 25 mins of the game was tight with Dynamos having more of the possession playing into the wind. Lawns were unfortunate to concede in the 25 minutes after winning the ball deep in their half but having not cleared the ball quickly Dynamos reclaimed the ball which was crossed in the box for a player to score with a well taken volley that no keeper could save. 5 minutes later in similar circumstances they scored again. With minutes to go to the end of the half Ross injured his knee in a tackle which ended his involvement in the game. Lawns finished the half with 10 men. At half time Matt came on in midfield, Kike dropped to left back with Calum right back. The second half started much the same as the first finished Lawns on the back foot pushing for a goal. 10 minutes in Craig came on for Josh. Lawns pushed on to find a goal bit with no avail. Dynamos scored a third with 10 minutes to go from an audacious opportunist long shot the cam of the post and went in. Chris O'Malley came on for the last 10 and nearly repeated his antics of the last game of the season with a goal opportunity which was cleared off the line. Rich made 2 great saves to keep the score respectable which was all he had to for the game as Dynamos broke on the counter. The final whistle came shortly after. To sum up Dynamos were the better team but Lawns deserved a goal for their efforts. MOM was Lewis for his defensive performance.
