Match Report - HANGOVER 96 FIRST - 26 Nov 2017

A much improved Hove Lawns side came away empty handed against the runaway league leaders on a cold morning at Wish Park.

A change to a more defensive setup seemed to brighten up Hove who came out fighting from the off and took an early lead through Luke Mitchell.

Unfortunately the lead didn't last long as their opponents struck twice in three minutes with two goals from distance. A third goal was to follow shortly after and the game seemed out of reach due to the quality in the Hangover side. However, Hove cane out in the second half and stuck to their task, often frustrating the visitors who struggled to find a way through.

Hove scored their their second of the game through a long range strike by Dan Harrison and sensed there could be a chance to grab something from the game. Despite more resolute defending, Hangover scored a fourth and it was difficult from there.

Adam Tighe scored a free kick with five minutes to go and despite throwing everything at them Hove couldn't find the fourth goal that was needed.

Man of the match: Secondweek in a row but Luke gets it for a tireless performance up front on his own. Out of position Luke created several chances and their defence did not cope well with his constant movement and pace

Although Luke was my man of the match I though the commitment and desire to get something out of the game was exceptional today. Our attitude was spot on and despite setting up defensively we also played some decent football at times. It was much more like the start of the season. Hangover are a very good side who will win almost every game this season so to stand up to them the way we did was very pleasing.
