FIRST HALF
The first Ten minutes of the game Hove had most of the possession with early chances, on the ten minute mark a cross field ball from Adam Tighe was brought down by Luke who cut inside and sent a curling effort into the top right hand corner from around 25yards
Unfortunately injuries plagued Hove Lawns throughout this game, with the first change coming before the 20 minute mark with Matt being replaced by Calum.
Lawns continued to push creating chances with Christian missing a chance to extend the lead with a one on one, but good save from the keeper denied Christian his first goal for Hove Lawns.
Another injury came soon after with Joe coming off to be replaced by Chris O’Malley. After the half hour mark Arlington started creating chances and putting pressure on the Hove defence, this pressure continued seeing Arlington get a goal back.
After the goal Hove Lawns had the chance to take the lead again with Christian running through one on one with the keeper but another great save from the keeper denied Christian for the second time this morning.
SECOND HALF
The second half started pretty much the same as the first with Lawns piling the pressure, numerous chances occurred but not really challenging the keeper.
Shortly into the second half Ben Travis was substituted for Matt who had recovered from his injury to return to the pitch.
Hove lawns were awarded a penalty when Luke was taken out by the keeper and defender as the corner came in.
Sam volunteered to step up to take the penalty but this was missed after a power strike went wide of the post.
Lawns continued to pile on the pressure, but with no success. Arlington then went through one on one with Lawns keeper which saw a great save but a colliding of players from this the referee deemed this to be a penalty to the shock of all Lawns players.
Arlington stepped up to convert the penalty and ultimately give the visitors the lead. Few more chances went a miss for Lawns then a great solo run from the Arlington striker went past two defenders to slot it past Harry to make it 3-1 to the visitors.
Arlington saw the game out to continue their winning streak and give Hove Lawns there first defeat of the season.
MOM: There a few candidates for MOM today but Manager Matt Jackson picks Sam for his MOM with a Solid performance from the defender.
We may have lost but a lot of positives to take from the performance. Well done Lawns ??
