HOT - ON AND OFF THE PARK

<p>Horden Supporters once again on league duty against another fine Easington team. Despite the heat credit must be given to both clubs who entertained a large crowd of spectators with a terrific display. There was no score in the first 45 minutes with both 'keepers showing fine form.

<p>Horden got an excellent early breakthrough on 47 minutes when Robert Taylor put in John Bowes whose overlapping run caught the CIU defence flat footed. His pull back to Joe Bell was uted superbly into the top corner from 20 yards. 0-1 The home side pushed for an equaliser but Adam Cockroft in the Supporters goal made a couple of superb saves. In the 64th minute Christopher Wright and Michael Heckles made way for Michael Boardman and Aaron Coulson and three minutes later a Taylor free kick was spilled by the CIU 'keeper and Coulson reacted first poking in from 5 yards. 0-2 Easington pulled one back with ten minutes remaining and three minutes later Andrew Davidson replaced Gavin Strong. It was the substitutes that combined for the visitors third goal. Boardman's corner was volleyed home by Davidson, having lost his marker in the box, guided his shot into the bottom corner. Final score 1-3
