A thrilling game in the Lancashire Prem Ended 3-3 after a last minuet penalty from Mark Hughes ensured that Hoole 1sts rescued a point at the death in an epic afair against Bolton Nomads.

With a standard Hoole start, Hoole went 1-0 down from a penalty after Jon Hogg cythed down the oppostion attacker inside 4 minuets. The pen was slotted stright down the middle to give Baker in the Hoole goal no chance.

With not a lot really happening in the 20 minuets that followed. Hoole began to grow into the game, and were getting joy down the left flank with Alan Kelly on the wing. Chances were few and far between. Yet it was Bolton who extended their lead following a lucky deflection, which fell to the winger. He played in Yakubu from the left to slot in from 4 yards. 2-0 to Bolton with around 10 to go to half time.

Martin and Liam’s half time team talk was similar to most of them this season, as they demanded a greater urgency and a quicker tempo. Liam was introduced for the injured Matthew Mawson. Hoole started the 2nd half slightly stronger as they looked to force their way back into the match. It was around halfway into the 2nd half when a flick on found its way to Sam Bamber who volleyed from around 25 yards out into the net for a goal of the season contender.

As usual, Hoole decided to make hard work of the issue and found themselves chasing a 3 goal cushion once more, after a further lack of discipline resulted in another penalty of which Bolton converted leaving Hoole pushing for 2 goals with around 20 to play.

They gave themselves a life line with around 10 to go, when a ball into the box was flicked on by Dan France, only for Matt Smith to acrobatically connect and bring the score back to 3-2.

Bolton could have put the game to bed shortly after with a clear chance, but Martin Baker in the sticks made himself big and prevented a 4th with a big save.

Hoole began to force the issue and in the last minute their efforts were rewarded when a shot by Dan France on the line was palmed away like Suarez in the world cup and Hoole were rewarded a penalty. Mark Hughes did the job under pressure with virtually the last kick of the game to salavage a point.
