Hollington 2nds travelled too JC Tackleway of the 1st division in the Hastings FA Junior Cup.
Despite being the underdogs, Hollington controlled the game from the start winning every 1st and 2nd ball and keeping the ball on the deck. Rhys Warren almost opened his account for the Lions on 2 occasions with just keeled to beat but pulled one wide and the other saved by the keepers foot. With the back for of Hollington as solid as ever and Joe Murray and Dan Andrews controlling the midfield the 1st goal came via a pass from Andrews deflecting off a defender and Stovell seizing on the loose ball to rifle home for his 6th goal of the season. John Steele got his 1st of the season from a flick over the top from Lowes and buried it beyond the keeper. 2-0 halftime.
2nd half was more of the same with the impressive and converted defender of Mike Hollands and captain Shaw marking the Tackleway strikers out of the game and George Murray and chris hollands giving their wingers nothing. Stovell was replaced by Emile Tambeh with the latter getting his 1st goal of the season latching onto a ball in the box and placing it into the bottom left corner. Tackleway got a consolation due to M.Hollands doing a "Gerrard Slip", allowing their striker to finally being able to beat keeper Ivanescu from close range. 3-1 final score, MOM was the impressive Dan Andrews showing his worth to the team once again with his accurate passing and workrate.
