Lads Exit Cup With Pride

<p>After a performance to forget in our last match, the lads all knew today was going to be a tough test against Premiier Division opponents but we got them fully focussed & they put in a performance to be proud of. We may have lost the game but I don't think I'm being biased by saying I felt we could have won the match on balance of play and number of chances - it just wasn't meant to be !

<p>We lost an early goal which was a little disappointing but the lads kept their shape and worked their way into the match. We had 3 great opportunities to equalise but luck wasn't with us.

<p>Half Time 0 - 1

<p>A good chat with the lads at the break, telling them to take all of the positives from the first half and push on to get something from the game. The lads were fully motivated and were the better side in the 2nd half, again we had chances but couldn't put them away, this proved to be the telling factor as Waldridge scored 2 more to put the game beyond our reach. Alex made a few good saves and although we conceded 3 goals, our defence look a lot more solid than in previous games. Although the game was as good as over at 0-3 with 10 mins left to play, the big difference today was that the lads never gave up and continued to fight on as if the score was 0-0 - great attitudes. In the last seconds of the match James was denied a deserved goal when their keeper made an outstanding one-handed save.

<p>In Summary - Football can be cruel at times - we didn't get the result we deserved today but everyone of the lads can be proud of their efforts today as it was hard to tell which team was the Prem side and which was Div 1. Great stuff lads, lets take this forward to our next game.
