Blues Lose Out In Close Contest

<p>Harton & Westoe were the only unbeaten team in the division and they took an early lead on 2 mins direct from a free-kick. This rocked us a little but the lads stuck to the task & we got an equaliser on 12 mins when we put their defender under pressure and this forced him into a lofted back pass which the keeper couldn't deal with and it went into the net 1-1. Harton were showing why they are still unbeaten, they have a lot of strength in their side and in the first half, their midfield seemed to win every ball and ultimately this is where they controleed the game from. They took the lead again on 25 mins with a lobbed effort that gave Alex no chance 1-2.

<p>We had a chat at the break & changed things around a little & this seemed to work better for us in the second half. The rest of the match was a fairly tight affair, Owen Crossley was very unfortunate not to get an equaliser when his brilliant free-kick bounced off the crossbar. Harton extended their lead and I have to give them credit, it was a very good goal, their midfielder who had been very influential in the match showed great skill and put in a fantastic through-ball which their striker slotted into the net 1-3. We got caught late on in the game with another goal which was finished well 1-4.

<p>Joint men of the match - Elliot & Aaron McGregor - both lads done really well at the back today, battling hard & winning lots of headers.

<p>In Summary - can't fault the efforts of the lads today. I feel the scoreline was slightly harsh as I felt we battled really hard but Harton did deserve the win. Next on the agenda is a break from leagues games and it's a Cup match with the reward for the winners being a place in the Qtr Final.
