In a game where Heddon largely dominated against a good Barrasford side, we were unlucky to come away with a draw rather than all three points.
We defended well throughout, limited the best player in the league IMO any real chance on goal. However a superb free kick and a goal mouth scramble saw us go behind two - one, following a Ross Bailey goal in the first half.
Heddon, with 5 subs for the first time this season, looked the stronger of the team after that and showed great teamwork and spirit to get back level 2-2 with a fine header by man of the match Ross Bailey.
Following on from that Heddon really should have went on to win but we'll take a draw to get us off the mark. Sean, Woody, Murta Appaz and Frankie all going close.
Kieran and i have been pleased with the way we have tried to play, injuries and holidays have hurt us so far like they have for most teams. We look a little more solid defensively so far, lets keep improving on that and aim for clean sheets. Lets keep getting that ball on the floor and go through midfield and work hard when we don't have it. Simple and basic stuff but when we do them two things we really are a match for anyone.
This season really is going to be wide open. Anyone in this league can win it and i think teams will beat each other all season.
Tough game next week against Hayden Bridge then a game against Prudhoe Social who just thrashed Phoenix 7-1.
