Final Game of the league season - thrown away!
In a game that we had no right drawing, in true heddon style we drew it! That said, and with the greatest of respect to a very good Bardon Mill team who were also in end of season mode, we were by far and away the better team and it was just too many changes made by KOD and Greeny at the back that lead to the draw.
A good game played on a bobbly opitch that was slightly spoiled by the wind but both teams tried to player good football.
Player synopsis:
Bull: Very little to do but distribution was class. Couple of good saves and command of area excellent.
Tom A: Spot on performance both with and without the ball - foul throw the only dent on his performance - Ballaz and Dan on the sidelines shouting at the ref every time he took a throw in didnt help his cause :-) .
Ramma: Went in a centre half, class as always. Dont think he shouted at the sidelines this week - must have had a successful night on Saturday!
Roy: Started off a little shaky but after that was absolutely superb, literally didn't give the ball away once. Man of the match.
Mayo: Steady as always, nice on the ball unlucky not to get a goal with a couple of shots. Was positive all game (well mostly!)!
Jlish: Class at full back, class centre half. Never made a mistake and kept the ball ticking over in the holding role, class game couldnt tell he was hanging (except for the slip!)
Appaz: Got the vision no one else in the team has and always plays the right pass but his work rate today was unreal! LOVED IT! :-).
Elliott: As per - excellent, all over the place and unlucky not to score - be more selfish in the box!
Cross: Left wing start and was mint! Great goal/cross but looked dangerous with the ball and worked hard off it (i mean you have to with mayo left back). Came off at halftime as has played about 100 games in a month.
Sean: Loves the sun, unlucky not to be man of the match, quality performance. Should have had a hatrick. He Absolutely shook his head when subbed - debate over! :-)
Frank: Lovely performance from frank, held the ball up well and cracking assist for Rossy's goal. Unlucky not to score himself - looked tired a bit towards the end but he'll tell you thats because he never gets 90 and not because he has chocolate for his breakfast! :-) well played big man.
Will: First game back since doing his Achilles in October, played very well indeed. Couple of pot shots that he should have done better with but is going to be a great addition to the squad next year if he stays fit. Lovely meg!
Phil: Donning the captains armband he performed like a mercurial winger trying to score his first heddon goal in years.Unfortunately he didn't as that means he is playing next year! :-)
Rich: Few cracking headers and cleared one off the line at the end! He'll be a regular at this rate!
KOD - Turned up with the gear - huzzah!
