Home league match
Never say die Harecastle earned a well deserved point against well fancied Cuckoo Albion thanks to man of the match Adam Wilkes' 90th minute equaliser. Albion looked to be in control in the first half possesion wise, in a game of few clear cut chances. Albion took the lead in the 20th minute when a free kick on the angle deceived keeper Dom Casey at the near post only for the rebound to be squared allowing the striker to tuck in neatly from 5 yards. The Harecastles best chance of the first half was a 20 yards free kick struck sweetly by Lee Franklin only to be twarted by the Abion keepers legs as Harecastle tried to pish for an equaliser. Harecastle management and coaching staff Dave Taylor, Mark Harry and Phil Lownds had plenty to deal with as Harecastle players dropped like flies in the 2nd half, at least 6 substitutions and a nuber of formations changes had to be made due to injuries that could of put any team of their stride. Goalkeeper Dom Casey made what turned out to be crucial saves in the 2nd half. The flash point came on 75 minutes as the Albion striker came in on goalkeeper Casey with a high foot. Harecastles Lee Franklim retalliated and a melay occured with then substituted Ashley Frankin coming onto the pitch to defend his brother resulting in Ashley receiving a red card. To thier credit Harecastle players responded with their never say die attitude earned them a point when with 33 seconds to go as Phil Richardson swung in a free kick, Dan Frost kept the ball in play at the back post only for Adam Wilkes to head home from close range. Next up for Harecastle is another home game with another promoted side in the shape of Jolly Carter where they will be looking to capture 3 points to provide a solid start to the season.
