Another fantastic TEAM performance from the lads, recording our 4th win AND clean sheet at home on the bounce! Clean sheets make for very impressive reading in kids football I’ll tell you that.

An opportunity today for some of the lads who haven’t started in the last few games to impress, and they didn’t waste that opportunity!

Hampton started brightly as expected, with new signing Omar looking a threat alongside goal machine Rushy. The deadlock was soon broken when Oscar played in Rushy, who made no mistake to notch his 17th of the season.

A few minutes later it was 2-0, when debutant Omar slotted in Rushy who again made no mistake, hitting his 18th and putting us in total control.

A buoyant Jack got himself on the scoresheet with a big toe from the edge of the box to put us 3-0 up, certainly someone who enjoyed himself today and looking fitter week by week ????.

All of this attack can only happen through the hard work and discipline of our ever-improving goalkeeper and defence, who keep us solid and give us a great foundation to attack.

It was from our keeper that the next goal came, with a fantastic kick forward where new boy Omar controlled and blitzed his way toward goal, confidently finishing to mark his debut with an assist and goal, super stuff.

We did have a few more chances in the first half but we came in at 4-0.

Lots of changes today to try and ensure all the lads got a decent amount of minutes, although it does disrupt the flow of the game a little. Still, we continued on the front foot and it was soon 5, when Harry slotted a lovely ball through to Rushy who managed to blast the ball home at the second attempt and grab his second hatrick and 19th goal of the season. Very, very impressive numbers!

Silhill then managed to cause us a problem down the left hand side and the ref awarded a penalty. Well, if strikers enjoy scoring goals, keepers must enjoy saving pens! He’s got history this kid, after his cup heroics earlier in the season, and was more than a match for the Silhill player today, guessing the right way and saving the pen, then grabbing the ball before any rebound opportunity, lovely stuff!!

More chances for Hampton fell to Harry who was unfortunate, Fin hit the post, Josh M, Jack, to name a few, but 5-0 it would remain and as I said this is 4 home wins, all with clean sheets, in a row.

1-0, 2-0, 4-0, 5-0…. I’m looking forward to getting those Sutton teams on our ground because they should be ding-dongs!

MOTM today went to Josh P, who was strong in the tackle and distributed well, contributing to yet another clean sheet… well done Josh!

Well done lads, a fantastic season so far, one I’m thoroughly enjoying. Let’s keep up the good work.

Up The Reds ??
