Pre-match post - 01/04

NAG, traditionally always have a good set up, solid in tackles and set pieces. Whatever their starting XI, they will most certainly come expecting to win.

If our last game against them was a boxing match, I would have thrown in the towel at half-time. We lost the match cuz we simply didn't compete and contain their wingers

The starting line up tmw is different and I expect a different result. Win your individual battles on the pitch, keep it solid at the back and let the runners and attacking players do their thing in the final third.

Let's not make it hard work for ourselves, get the first goal...we cnt always chase in big games!

They'll be a different buzz abt tmw's game...the experienced players who have been there, will need to step up and set an example

Possibly, the biggest challenge we've had as a team so far...go out and compete tmw, but most importantly enjoy it!

Maybe see u guys tmw...Manners

Match review: 01/04

GHS 2-3 New Ash Green

Gls - John, Raj N

Assists - Prem, Dan

I only got to see the first half today, lots to be proud of, but also loads to improve on.

We didn't lose cuz of a specific goal...we lacked shape and calmness at the back, didn't always compete physically in the middle and needed more composure up top

When I was growing up, the biggest football insult was to be called a park footballer. Nowadays, it's to be called a 'goals' footballer...too many players not producing the same standard from midweek to Sunday

On a plus note, we attacked well down the middle and we created many chances from our direct attacking play and set pieces / corners. On another day, we could have scored 5/6 goals and buried this team

Main highlights were John's superb opening goal, scoring first in a big match and Dan repeatedly calling Cheema 'Jag', when he came on as RB...was too funny!

If you're sitting at home pissed off like Dan, then that's how you should be feeling. We missed out on a chance of a SF, cuz we didn't control and finish off this slightly above average physical team

We need to have the same routine and mentality for every game we play...not just getting pumped up for the so called big games

Well done for reaching the QF stage...let's now move on from today and see a better commitment to training (me included) this Wednesday...
