Home cup match
It was a big Cup day for Greshams. Manager Cashen named the team which was Rob in goals (the previous week’s postponement having robbed Greshams of an opportunity to allow the Romanian Cat a game between the sticks): a back four of Cash, Sam, Rich Minns and Gareth; in midfield, the Exocet, Matt, Froudy and Nathan; with Steve Norfolk and Rob Minns up front and Ollie and Tom Cashen on the bench.
The arrival of a fresh faced bunch of feral youths (the oldest of whom was 20) heralded that this would be the classic clash of youth against the gnarled experience in the Greshams ranks. Sadly, within minutes of the kick off, it was advantage to the youths, as a cross came from the right, the striker just beat Rich Minns to the ball, and stuck it into the net.
Sadly not long later it was two as Ferals broke down the right and the rapid winger showed a decent turn of pace and some skill to evade Greshams’ challenges and stick a decent stop beyond Rob’s reach.
Half Time Greshams 0 Ferals 2
Greshams hadn’t done themselves justice in the first half. Some rampaging runs forward from Rich Minns aside they had really failed to trouble the opposition. Ollie replaced the tiring Exocet at half time with Gareth moving to play a bit further forwards.
However mid way through the half Ferals got a third, as the unfortunate Sam got the ball caught under his feet, the striker nipped in and finished confidently giving Rob no chance.

Man of the Match
Greshams simply failed to play enough football in this game; they struggled all through the match to put passes together. However, what they did produce was usually inspired by Rich Minns who charged forward at every opportunity, showing great drive and determination. Well played mate.
