Breast Rummage Albion 2 vs 3 Greensleeves

<p dir="ltr">Greensleeves bounced back from last week's disappointment, but it took them a whole half of football to get going as they struggled past an awkward opponent in Breast Rummage Albion.

<p dir="ltr">Dave was unavailable and his energy was really missed.

<p>

<p dir="ltr">The boys in green toiled from the off, and a sloppy start was punished early on. Sam could not understand why a corner was being taken from a quadrant drawn on the pitch specifically to take corners from, and failed to block the cross. It was seized upon by the Breast Rummage forward, whom no-one seemed to be marking, and his shot squirmed past Eddie and found the net to make it 0-1.

<p dir="ltr">The passing from the back was extremely sloppy, and when the ball did find it's way forward, Matt and Holmesy's finishing was poor to say the least. Matt dragged a couple of efforts wide and Holmesy shot straight at the 'keeper.

<p dir="ltr">Eddie made a couple of important interventions to keep the score down.

<p dir="ltr">Half time saw a change in Greensleeves' attitude and it showed straight away. Sam launched a superb long ball to Matt, who hit just wide on the half volley.

<p>

<p dir="ltr">Josh's ball out wide then found Matt, who cut inside and squared for Holmesy, who curled the ball into the far corner. 1-1.

<p dir="ltr">Josh had a chance to put Greensleeves ahead, but he was prevented from finding the net by a last-ditch tackle.

<p>

<p dir="ltr">It was 2-1 moments later though as Greensleeves broke at pace. Holmesy was free on the right and squared for Matt who got there just before the 'keeper.

<p dir="ltr">Greensleeves continued to pile on the pressure, with help from Eddie, who was distributing the ball well from the back.

<p dir="ltr">It was 3-1 when a lose ball fell to Matt, who shot in off the post.

<p>

<p dir="ltr">Greensleeves should have added to their lead in the closing stages; Josh found himself through on goal. He tried to surprise the goalkeeper by shooting early, but he blazed over.

<p dir="ltr">Breast Rummage found a late consolation, a good shot finding the bottom corner, with just seconds remaining. It was the last kick of the game and Greensleeves had secured an important 3 points.

<p dir="ltr">Father Figures up next, and the lads will know the need to turn up for the whole game.

<p>MAN OF THE MATCH: Eddie made some good saves and distributed well. Can't really give this award to any of the outfield players as the level of performance was poor in the first half.
