Away cup match

In a commanding display, Greenfield Youth FC U15 Panthers overwhelmed Ryde Saints Youth U15 Rangers in their cup encounter at Inner Binstead Park, securing a resounding 10-2 victory. The match, played out in front of a modest crowd of 17, showcased the Panthers' attacking prowess and tactical superiority from the outset.

The scoring opened early in the match when Emilio Parandian found the back of the net, capitalising on a long pass from Jamie Moore after just four minutes, setting the tone for the emphatic performance that was to follow. Parandian wouldn't stop there; just 14 minutes later, he assisted Daniel Goodson, whose skillful finish doubled the Panthers' lead to 2-0 in the 18th minute, courtesy of a precise cross.

The Panthers allowed no respite for their opponents as they quickly added a third goal, with Parandian once again at the centre of the action, scoring his second of the match in the 21st minute, after receiving a neat short pass from Goodson. With momentum firmly in their grasp, Goodson showcased his instincts again, netting his second goal in the 32nd minute, aided by a long delivery from George Adlem.

As the first half drew to a close, Olly Ray joined the scoring frenzy, netting the fifth goal in the 38th minute after a smart short pass from Nayan Heward-Mills. The Panthers concluded the first half with a commanding 5-0 lead, leaving Ryde Saints in disarray and scrambling for a way back into the match.

The second half began with the Panthers continuing their relentless assault. Parandian completed his hat-trick less than five minutes into the half, hitting the net again in the 49th minute after receiving a long pass. In a fleeting moment of relief, Ryde Saints struck back to register their first goal in the 52nd minute, but this hardly made a dent in the Panthers’ confidence.

Greenfields responded swiftly, with Barney Budd getting on the score sheet in the 60th minute, finishing from within the box following another assist from Parandian. As if this wasn’t enough, Goodson added to his tally with a clinical strike in the 76th minute, again benefiting from a well-executed pass from Adlem.

Despite a brave attempt from Ryde Saints to stage a comeback, including a second goal in the 77th minute, the Panthers kept their foot on the gas. An unfortunate own goal from the opposition in the 82nd minute, following a header from Josh Akpagbula, capped the game at 10-2.

The excellent officiating from referee Andy Morey, who enjoyed a strong performance throughout the match, provided a fitting backdrop to a truly dominant display from the Greenfield Youth FC U15 Panthers. This match will certainly stand out as a highlight of their campaign, with individual brilliance combining to create an exhibition of attacking football that left Ryde Saints searching for answers. As the Panthers celebrate their triumph, attention will now turn to maintaining this form in their upcoming fixtures.
