On 25 April 2025, Greenfield Youth FC U15 Panthers faced off against Oranges in a friendly match at Littledown Park, culminating in a thrilling 3-2 victory for the Panthers. The match, which kicked off at 19:00, showcased a display of determination and skill from both teams, but it was Greenfield who emerged victorious in a closely contested battle.
The Panthers lined up in a 3-3-1 formation, designed to provide a solid defensive base while allowing for attacking flexibility. Dylan Bingham took his place in goal, supported by a trio of defenders: Dominik Chudy on the right, Noah Iglewski in the centre, and Jamie Gray on the left. In midfield, George Adlem operated on the right, with Barney Budd centrally positioned, and Igor Safandowski on the left. Up front, Daniel Goodson was tasked with leading the line as the striker. Just three minutes later, in the 28th minute, the Panthers took the lead for the first time in the match with a well-executed goal, making it 3-2. The players celebrated this crucial moment, knowing that they were now in a position to win the tie.
In fact, it could of all been so different, had the final kick of the game gone in for the Oranges… It was the linesman that saw the shot had gone over the bar that provided the last twist to this exciting match.
The referee, Al Sinclair, managed the match effectively, ensuring that the players adhered to the rules while allowing the game to flow. As the first half concluded with a score of 3-2 in favour of Greenfield, both teams headed into the break with plenty to reflect upon.
In the end, Greenfield Youth FC U15 Panthers emerged victorious, securing a hard-fought 3-2 win against Oranges.
