Today against the League winners we were fantastic for the first 20 mins scored a goal with Jamie Moores tap in and gave Highcliffe hardly a sniff. Unfortunately football is played over a longer period and one mistake let them back in.
That gave them encouragement and the boys lost their belief and started playing like the opposition. When you do that against them they are very good at what they do. We found ourselves 3-1 down before we had a penalty given just before half time. Unfortunately it was missed and the boys came in slightly down. The talk was to believe in their ability and prove what a good side they can be. Unfortunately another mistake and then an own goal gave Highcliffe a comprehensive victory.
The scoreline doesn't suggest how close the game was but it shows that Highcliffe are very efficient and clinical. The boys never gave up in terms of effort but ultimately came up short. We now go into our last game next week. Mom goes to Noah for his constant tireless running and battling.
