To say we are gutted is an understatement. The boys gave everything out there today but ultimately came up slightly short.
Yateley came down with a strong squad and had some really decent players, but the first half we matched them and were always dangerous on the attack. Numerous chances went begging with Will shooting just wide, Noah going close and hitting the post and the ball stopping on the line. Yatelely also had chances with the ball over the top and there goal came from us giving the ball away and the good number 10 finishing well. Going in at half time the talk was to play with more control of the ball and not panic.
Second half the game got very scrappy with Yatelely having 2 goals ruled out for offside but they did find the net after more good work from their number 10 to get a free kick in a dangerous position. This resulted in a second goal with a header from their big centre back.
The boys started to play the football that we know they can play and started to cause Yateley more and more problems. Will who never stopped running won us a penalty with 2 mins to go and Noah confidently scored making it a grandstand finish. We could of had another penalty at the end but was not given but it wasn't to be.
Fair play to Yateley the best team won on the day and even though the boys are hurting we go into next weeks cup final knowing we can play better.
