Match Report - HOLT UNITED YOUTH U14 - 12 Mar 2023

Today we played a friendly against Wimborne and Holt U14 but they play up a year. Always a tough game but a really good test for the boys to see where their level is at the moment. Within 2 mins we concede a goal not dealing with the strength of their two strikers. Again the boys where constantly struggling with the long ball over the top and went 2-0 behind after more strong play. The boys however started to grow into the game and won a free kick which Benji despatched into the bottom corner. 30 seconds later 3-1 behind and then 4-1.

We were creating loads of good opportunities but just failing to get on the end of them or not making the keeper work to hard. Noah then scores and an own goal makes it 4-3 at half time. Really pleased with the half and told them to keep trying to do the right things. To be fair to Wimborne they increased the tempo of their passing feeding the two strikers who took their goals very well. We were always in the game until the last 10 mins where the boys heads and bodies were hurting. Really proud of the performance and attitude and it shows that they can perform against strong opposition.
