Match Report - SEAFAR VILLA 2006 - 15 May 2021

This was the most eagerly anticipated match of the League Cup group and you could tell that Grahamston were up for this match from the first whistle as they never gave Seafar a minute to settle. It was captain Ciaran who lead by example as gave his team the lead on 8 minutes and doubled it 9 minutes later with a sweet strike from outside the area. After only 20 minutes the Seafar keeper went down in a lot of pain after a by kick and had to be helped from the field. With a new keeper in goals Grahamston looked keen to test him and added two more goals before half time from Jaden and Warren.

So it was Grahamston who had the upper hand going into the break with a 4-0 lead and the Seafar discipline on and off the park looking to have gone with one of the coaches receiving a yellow card. The second half started as the first had finished with Grahamston on the front foot. Connor S slipped the ball past the keeper after a great through ball from Ciaran on 48 minutes. Five minutes later Seafar were down to 10 men on 53 minutes as a player lost control and had a kick out at Aiden D. With the game always threatening to boil over it was Grahamston who again were up the park scoring as Warren made it 6-0 after a scramble in the box after a corner from Robbo.

A well deserved and mature performance from the boys with the only downside being Aiden D and Jaden coming off with injuries. The last match in the group is away to Stirling Albion on Tuesday and a win should see the team through to the semi final in a few weeks.
