Match Report - DUNBLANE - 31 Oct 2020

With the wind howling and the rain falling conditions weren't ideal for football. The boys started the match slow and looked to still be carrying the hangover from last weeks friendly defeat. We did take the lead on 21 minutes through Jaden who followed up from a Jude effort on goal but we were level again 7 minutes later. A strange incident near the end of the half as the referee blew the whistle for half time after 35 minutes before being informed we play 40 minutes at this level, this came after he had let Dunblane start the match with 12 players, not his best day at the office. Luckily the boys hadn't switched off and we soon won a corner which was swung over by Robbo onto the head of Caleb.

Changes were made at half time in the midfield and we soon started to play better. We won another corner on 49 minutes and again Robbo swung it across but this time it was Connor S to rise above the defence to nod it past the keeper. We continued to create chances in the 2nd half but couldn't make the break through again until the last 5 minutes when Captain Ciaran started to find space in behind the Dunblane defence. The 4th goal was a brilliant defence splitting pass from Aiden D, unsure if Jaden got a touch before Ciaran was in on goal and the 5th with the last kick of the ball was scored after good work by Jaden down the left. Dunblane only troubled us once 2nd half but when Rowan was called upon he made a fantastic double save. Also a special mention to Charlie who played left back in the 1st half and right back in 2nd and strolled through what is only his 2nd competitive match for the team.
