GE VICTORIA 0-3 HILLMORTON OLD BOYS
Well done to everyone who took part in today's friendly against HOB. A cracking turnout of 13 players and a lot of enthusiasm on both sides made for a very good game.
In defence of the scoreline and result, we had almost our entire central midfield missing today and started quite slowly even by our standards. Hillmorton scored two early goals which gave us a bit of a hill to climb.
However, after 20 mins we settled and started to play some much better football. A number of chances were made and it is a shame that one or two of these were not converted into goals as it would have been interested to see how HOB reacted.
The main positive for me though was that this was HOB's 'A' team and the return of just a couple of experienced players to our side, on top of the efforts put in by the lads on show today, will make us a much more competitive team when it kicks off for real next week.
Many thanks to everyone who played out of their preferred positions today. I cannot think of a bad performance from anyone, just a couple of mistakes... that I'm more than happy to get out of our systems in a friendly.
