Withdean sitting top of the league were expecting to turn up and roll Hawks over as we were sitting bottom.
Little did they know that Owen and Rio were back from injury and Shak had signed on the dotted line and was available to play.
We hit them hard hard early on with some immense challenges and they didn't like the fact that they didn't get free kicks from them. In retaliation, one of them launched in to a 2 footed challenge on Oliver B and crunched his ankle. Ref gave a straight red and reduced them to 10 men.
Despite the constant moaning and whining that occurs from the middle of the pitch from Rio and Connor, they constantly attempted to beat their counterparts and set us up to play. Jack H and Toby flanked Tyler at the back and they all looked comfortable out of possession which was great to see.
Alex provided a breath of fresh air that we don't often see at Finches Filed which was constant aggressive running. Turning a ball that should be easy for their GK or defender in to a pressure moment. Aiden Powell constantly ran, pressured, motivated and showed great footballing skills to beat players and deliver passes up the line and in to the box.
Goals came from Connor and Owen, one of them being a superb wonder strike to seal the game 3-1.
As I said, the moaning is constant but the performance superseded it. Hoping we can continue this in to the next game
