Home cup match

Frolesworth United completed a spectacular comeback to defeat Alcester Town in the first round of the FA Sunday Cup.

Alcester raced into the lead after just two minutes, before doubling the advantage 10 minutes later.

Against the run of play, the visitors hit a third to go into the break 3-0 ahead.

However, Frolesworth struck within five minutes of the second half when Barnes Gladman dispossessed Isaiah Graham-Clarke inside the area and forced a late challenge, leaving the referee with no choice but to point to the penalty spot.

Sam Young stepped up, finishing in the bottom right corner.

It was then Gladman who further reduced the deficit.

Callum Wills lifted the ball over the visiting goalkeeper, leaving Gladman to fire home.

With Frolesworth enjoying increasing control and momentum, the pressure finally told with barely a minute left on the clock when Callum Wills' cross found Dom Ivens, who lashed home to send the tie into extra-time.

United instantly secured a winner after the restart when Cameron Weston proved a willing runner, feeding the tricky Gladman and his inviting centre found Young who sent his header back across goal to complete a thrilling turnaround and put Frolesworth into round two.
