FC Sportsmans Knocked Out By A Clinical Brookvale Side!

The game started off brightly for FC Sportsmans for the first 20 with New Brookvale certainly being still in the changing rooms with all the possession and chances falling to us but we were not clinical enough. With Ross, Russell, Grant and Jordan all having a handful of chances but were unlucky to not take one. Ross darrowly missing from a great ball from Kingy. Russell playing a great ball in for Jordan for it to be cleared on the line. Grant setting up Jordan to strike the ball and it hitting the post and Russell with a few chances which went wide and over but all were very good chances and we should have been 3/4 up after 20. But then Brookvale played a long ball over the top where there striker had a great touch and slotted into the bottom corner to make it 1-0. Heads certainly didn't drop as we continued to play great football, and our goal came from Ross who had a nice ball played into him from Nashy, and Ross miss hit his shot and the ball somehow went in with the keeper certainly at fault for the goal. Brookvale went onto to score straight away from a corner where the played got away from Kingy to score and make it 2-1 before half time.

Second half FC Sportsmans were again on top with great through balls and the chances just not going in the net. Brookvale were continually getting frustrated with the ref during the game and maybe that edged in when they were lucky to win a throw in and scored from it with a long throw into the box to make it 3-1. Plenty of time left in the game to come back and we gave it a good go, but we could only get the second with Russell Day, who ran down the right from a tight angle to smash the ball past the keeper. It ended 3-2 with a great chance with 2 minutes left to play but it just wasn't our day infront of goal.
