FT - Sutton Prem Divison***

New Brookvale Social 2-3 FC Sportsmans

What a result!! Our first ever game in the Sutton premier against a very good Brookvale side. We started off the better team in the game moving the ball freely from back to front. As the half went on we continued to press forward but the final but was certainly lacking. A corner came in from Kingy where Jordan Lengthorn almost seemed to head it onto Nashy who converted into the corner to make it 1-0 with 20 minutes played. After this Brookvale got more into the game with it being very much stop start, for needless fouls and lots of shouting at the referee. It worked in brookvales' favour as they scored from a long throw in from the centre back where the winger was allowed to take the ball down In the box and pass into a empty net, 1-1. They went onto score another goal which would have been worthy to win any football match with their striker scoring from around 40 yards out lobbing Lee to make it 2-1 just before half time with confidence seeming to have dropped by a few Sportsman's players.

A good team talk was then followed by a slow start to the second half, then Kingy & Jordan shouting around waking up some of our players saying there is a game that's his for the taking.

A lot more aggression and the football being improved with Aaron Ashford making a big impact when coming on. Ryan Luke Day filling in as manager as assistant Ryan Thomason having to go, making vital decisions on the sideline. The second goal came down the right when Jay played a great ball into the box and Nashy again just getting a little flick on to make it 2-2. Brookvale seemed to lose legs and then Sportsmans played some neat football with Lee playing into the middle to Jordan Lengthorn who played it out to Jordan Taylor, who played a great ball to Grant who flicked onto Aaron who clipped it other to Greenway with a great control and finish to make it 3-2. Ross & Aaron with 2 sitters at the end which could have made it more a flattering score.

But a great win to start!!
