vs Irthlingborough Rangers

Home friendly match

A good start to the pre-season for F.C Siam as they ran out 10-1 winners against Irthlingborough Rangers. Siam took the game directly to Rangers scoring goals early, securing the result long before half time. Adam Emery was the Man of the Match however it was a solid team performance with all the players involved in the game working hard to ensure the Pre-Season got off to a good start.

Despite a number of notable absentees from the Corby Domino Squad that preceeded FC Siam, the squad had a very familiar look, Den Palmer returned as Captain and led by example, netting twice before being substituted. The game produced some outstanding goals with outstanding finishes from Purcell and a curling 30 Yard effort from Man of the Match, Adam Emery.

Among the new faces was Portuguese Striker, Victor Carvalho who appeared comfortable with his new team mates, finding the net twice early in the game, to make an immediate impact. Another notable debut came for Teenage substititute Dante Sharples, who made his first appearance in mens football and showed that he has the ability to be an effective member of the squad in the future.

Although the club recorded a huge 10-1 victory, it could, and probably should, have been more. 8-1 at half time chances were limited in the second period of the game, only two further goals after the break, but with good chances for Johnson, Burlington and Peasnall.

Despite some potentially difficult fixtures remaining in Pre-Season, FC Siam will be confident as they progress towards the new season in The Northants Combination Division 4.
