<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">On a windy afternoon at the Burrows, leaders Lakeside took on bottom place Charlton Rovers, looking to strengthen their grip on top spot. It was Lakeside who took a firm grip on the game by continually getting the ball out wide to wingers Eliott Harris and Will Norman who were given their fullbacks a torrid time. With chance after chance going by, Lakeside finally opened their account on the 19th minute when Cameron Smith was on hand to slot past the Rovers keeper to give Lakeside the lead. Charlton Rovers kept ten men behind the ball and were making it difficult for Lakeside to extend their lead. Lakeside were able to double their lead by some good work from Simon Brady, who put Cameron Smith through to claim his second goal. On the stroke of half time Lakeside scored a third when the ever-persistent Eliott Harris went past three players to get a cross in for Luke Hithchman to score from inside the six yard box.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Lakeside seemed to settle down after a frustrating first half and began to play their usual flowing football. The introduction of the injury returning Luke Robson at half time seemed to add another dimension to the Lakeside attack. He was soon able to register his first goal of the season in the 41st minute. Simon Brady was able to score a further two goals within the space of five minutes to provide Lakeside with a 6-0 lead. &nbsp;

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Lakeside made three changes and also changed the formation to a 3-4-3 and went on to score a further five goals in 10minutes with a further two goals from Cameron Smith taking his toll for the season to 14goals. Will Norman also popped up at the back post to get on the score sheet before Liam Gould made his way into the box for Luke Hitchman to put the ball into his path to drive home to claim his first goal for Lakeside. The best goal of the game was saved until last when Luke Hitchman from outside the area unleashed a spectacular effort into the roof of the net to round off a fine performance.
