In a compelling display of youth football, Faversham Town KYL U13’s showcased their attacking prowess, overwhelming Bearsted FC with a commanding 6-2 victory in a friendly match held at Honey Lane Pitch 1 on 5th September 2024. From the outset, Faversham Town set the tone with their dynamic gameplay and tactical awareness, employing a 3-1-4-2 formation that allowed for both defensive stability and offensive flexibility.
The match began with Faversham Town quickly asserting their dominance. Nikolai DaSilva opened the scoring within the first five minutes, converting a well-placed assist from CJ Jemmett, who was instrumental in driving the team forward. The early goal set the stage for a high-energy encounter as the home side continued to press the Bearsted defence.
Just moments later, Faversham were handed a significant boost when Bearsted FC conceded an own goal. Ryan Cairns, with his relentless work rate, was pivotal in forcing the error that saw the visitors fall behind even further. This momentary resurgence from the visitors, though encouraging, did little to deter Faversham's momentum.
The game continued with several substitutions that kept the energy levels high on both sides. Faversham eventually brought on Freddie Critcher, Harrison Holbrook, and others to maintain their tempo and fresh legs as the match progressed. Just after the half-time mark, Timmy Adenji got on the scoresheet with a goal that showcased the tactical discipline Faversham had exhibited throughout the match, advancing their lead to 5-1.
As the second half unfolded, Faversham maintained control and displayed impressive teamwork and skill. Harrison Holbrook, who had recently substituted in, scored twice, effectively sealing the fate of the Bearsted side. His first strike came shortly after his introduction, demonstrating an immediate impact that delighted the Faversham coaching staff.
Bearsted did manage to add another goal to their tally, reducing the deficit to 6-2 as the game wound down. However, this was a mere consolation in what was a thoroughly dominant performance by Faversham Town KYL U13’s, who illustrated their capability of both scoring and managing the game effectively.
