FAST Trash Kenkre FC 8-0

Another stellar performance from team FAST who began the game on the front foot scoring the first goal as early as the second minute from a corner kick which was quickly taking by Anuja and tapped in by Harshini and soon added another a few minutes later to take a comfortable 2-0 lead. Kenkre FC looked out of bounds and had no idea what hit them this early in the game. Anuja's pressing game made it very difficult for Kenkre to settle down and she even bagged a goal after snatching the ball from a Kenkre defender and putting it past the keeper. Kenkre tried putting a few moves together to get past the FAST defence but were faced with a very difficult challenge with the likes of Alisha, Nyesha, Reet and Yana. Kenkre FC even tried taking shots from distance but their long range efforts were comfortably handled by Shivika in goal.

Mid-way through the first half, Kenkre FC resorted to a more defensive approach by playing with 3 at the back in the hope of not conceding any more goals but the way FAST moved the ball around the pitch was marvelous to watch as if they were just toying with their opponents. FAST were dictating the pace of the game, forcing their opponents to break their defensive shape and make mistakes which eventually lead to FAST scoring their third goal of the game before half time.

The second half began just as the first had ended with FAST continuously pressing as if they were down by a few goals. Kenkre FC looked to continue with their defensive approach and for a while that seemed to have been working until a switch in FAST personnel changed the dynamics of their game.

With the introduction of Vedika playing alongside Harshini and at times with Kiara made it extremely difficult for Kenkre to track their runs which resulted in some good combination play between Vedika and Harshini and Kiara as well. Vedika's passing was on point making some key defence splitting passes which ended up in assisting Alisha with one goal and also with Kiara going one on one with the keeper and calmly slotting the ball in the goal.

The second half saw Harshini complete her hat-trick with a good team move and an assist from Kiara. We also witnessed a cracking goal by Alisha after she cut in from the left flank and smashed it in the top corner leaving the Kenkre keeper clueless.

The determination of team FAST to not concede a goal was remarkable and no matter what Kenkre FC threw at FAST, it just didn't seem like the ball was going to go into the net and thus resulting in another clean sheet for the team.

With the league group stage coming to a close with one more game to go, the competition is beginning to heat up. Can FAST continue their dominant form into the next stage and live up to the high standard they have set or will they crumble under pressure from tougher opponents??? Stay tuned.....
