EEOB stretch winning streak

EEOB arrived at there former stomping ground too face an unbeaten Cobham Village who began the day top after 2 wins from 2. EEOB players arrived confident after opening the season the previous week with a victory.

The opening exchanges did not offer much with either side offering much in terms of attempts on goal. EEOB were comfortable and allowed Cobham possession whilst being patient going forward.

The opening goal sparked the game in to life with a Chris Appleby corner being headed in to his own net by a Cobham player for an O.G. 0-1 EEOB

Cobham continued with there passing game and a through ball that split centre halfs Adams

and Phillips allowing there CF through on goal. Keeper Murray slid out and made contact with the forward leaving the referee no option but to award a penalty and a yellow card. Murray made amends and saved the poor penalty with his feet as the forward went straight down the middle.

EEOB were spurred on by this penalty miss and Morris thought he had made it 2-0 from a Courcha pass. The referee awarded the goal but failed to spot and offside flag from the linesman and the goal was chalked off.

Phillips got booked for a late challenge after there forward again got in before being hacked down. The resulting free kick was helped over the bar for a corner. The corner was comfortably defended.

After good build up play from the back Courcha released Morris with a pass with the outside of this right foot and Morris clipped the ball over the keepers head and in to the net for 2-0. This time the goal stood.

Quinn Bagley had an effort from distance tipped over by the Cobham keeper as he drove forward and let fly.

HT 0-2 EEOB

The second half was comfortable for EEOB after various changes this did not disrupt the performance. There was half chances for either side but the back four and midfield controlled the game and the forward line worked hard to hold the ball up top.

The game ended on a small down note with Chris Appleby being sin binned and yellow carded for dissent. Leaving EEOB down to 10 men temporarily.

A comfortable performance all round
