**Match Report: Enfield Celtic 1sts vs. Trim Celtic 2nds**

*Wednesday night at Flomax Park saw a fiercely competitive clash in the NEFL Division 2 between Enfield Celtic 1sts and Trim Celtic 2nds.*

Coming into the match, Trim Celtic sat 3rd in the table and were full of confidence, applying pressure early with their direct long-ball tactics. However, Enfield Celtic’s defense stood firm, dealing with the pressure effectively. Goalkeeper Jody Campion made a couple of routine saves to keep the score level.

As the half progressed, Enfield started to gain control, creating their first real chance when Dean Brennan’s effort was cleared off the line following a clever through ball from Alex Curtis. Ethan came close shortly after, narrowly missing the target after beating three defenders down the right wing. Enfield pushed for a goal, winning several corners, but were unable to break the deadlock before the interval.

The second half started much like the first had ended, with Enfield Celtic pressing Trim deep into their own half. Sean Coyle and Ethan were constant threats on the wings, putting Trim’s defense under heavy pressure. In midfield, Evan, Stephen, and skipper Nathan controlled the tempo, while Enfield's back four of Alex, Sean McKeon, Phil, and Jake won every aerial duel, with Jody Campion sweeping up any danger that came his way.

The turning point came in the 73rd minute when the referee awarded Trim Celtic a controversial penalty. However, Jody Campion was the hero, diving to his left to make a crucial save and keep the scores level.

Shortly after, Jack Campion came on as a substitute, continuing where Sean Coyle left off by terrorizing the Trim left-back. Jack's dangerous play led to a foul on the edge of the box. Stephen Maher stepped up to take the free kick and curled a beautiful effort around the wall and into the net, giving Enfield Celtic a 1-0 lead.

The goal proved decisive, and Enfield Celtic held on for a hard-fought victory, claiming all three points and the bragging rights in this local derby.

**Final Score: Enfield Celtic 1sts 1-0 Trim Celtic 2nds**

Scorer: Stephen Maher (Free kick, 78')
