Battling Performance In The Fight For Top Spot

Enfield Celtic 2nds were coming into this game in good form with one loss in 4 in the league and scoring 17 in those games so there was high expectiatations coming into this encounter against Kingscourt Harps.

The lads started slow in the first few minutes with Kingscourt looking at applying the pressure early and they got there reward scoring within the first 20 minutes. That set back woke our lads up and they immediatly struck back with some fine link up play with ryan and Remi slotting it home.

We were getting the upper hand with some fine passing around the pitch, the lads hit a 2nd with remi linking up with Ryan again for Ryan to slot it home.

Kingscourt didnt give up though as they scored an equaliser just before half time against the run of play.

The lads reorganised themselves in the 2nd half and went at Kingscourt again, with Kingscourt happy to just sit back and hopefully leave enfield with a draw. The management made some assute changes to inject abit more pace and control in the game, and the subs did just that, with Sean Mckeon, Sean Mcredmond, Shaun Nugent and Karl Hynes doing fine jobs as they came on throughout the second half.

The lads applied the pressure in over the course of the second half with goals coming from charlie and Remi again to more or less seal the 3 points. Kingscourt did get a 3rd to make it a nervy 5 minutes but the lads were justfied winners as they battle on to reclaim the top spot.
