Emperors 8 vs 7 Shawside Inter U7

What a start! Joe got the Emperors flying this morning like all good penguins know they can with a goal in the first minute. Shawside equalised nearly as quickly though. The game settled into a good battle with West playing the better football. And they got their rewards with another goal for Joe, a lovely team goal from Bodhi and two from Ibrahim. Assists coming from all over the pitch. After the first break Shawside subbed on a giant and West seemed to stand off (and lose any sense of position). 5 conceded to go into this break 6-5 down. Team talks seemed to work for West (well done me ??). Ibrahim and Joe came out flying again and put us into a narrow lead. TENSION!! Several minutes of battles and Shawside pressure and they scored to bring the game level 7-7. Harley (unhappy at being subbed earlier) came on with a few mins left. Simple instruction of “score a goal Harley”. Austin on to a Ibrahim pass, finds Harley in the box. GOOOOAAAALLLLAAHHH!! 8-7 the final score. Well played boys!! With Matty Cook in attendance it was good to show him what we expect from the seniors later.
