Emperors Win The 6 All Draw

As the boys lined up for kick off in their usual organised formation they must have been confused at the team in front of them. Some of the smallest players they have played against and two of the biggest! Let’s Go!

The Future City Eagles took a 3-1 lead in to the first break with some fast tracking back to prevent Emperors scoring more.

After a team talk by coach Lee, with all the boys listening intently to their instructions, the loud shout of “West” got the attention of the opposition and supporters alike. The Emperors came out and chased every ball down and gave as good as they got with big tackles from Ibrahim, Evan and Tommy, and Harley shaking off a poke in the eye to find some great passes. Emperors went in to the next break 4-3 down with Joe getting his second and Ibrahim getting on the scoresheet.

In the final third the Eagles went 5-3 up before a solid performance in goal by Angus kept the goals out and his distribution to the wings was excellent with Bodhi doing some of his now famous close skill footwork to keep the ball and break through the defences. Joe got another 2 and Ibrahim another 1 to take us in to the lead for the first time with just minutes on the clock. As the final whistle was about to blow the Eagles got a corner taken so far out they were able to score directly with the final kick of the match.

After handshakes and thankyous everyone went their own way to football matches and firework displays…Except for the two big boys who were spotted going to the pitch next door to play in the Under 8 league
