Managers report...once again a 6-2 reversal doesn't sound too great and i feel we can be a little disappointed with the final out come as we proved once again that when we get it right we can play some good football.Terry's all gold proved they had no soft center and being made up of a decent bunch of footballers capitalized on another slow start by E.F.F and eased into a 3-0 lead without any of their goals having any real quality about them. A few tweaks where made and once again we started to compete and the feared landslide was averted with a good competitive attitude and some decent football.Having the rare option of 16 players to choose from actually proved very beneficial although the final score may not reflect that. At half time we tried a few different ideas that had perhaps not been possible in previous games and made lots of changes to give us a little more energy for the whole game. The 2nd half started much better for us and another Gary Phillips cross found the head of Johnny Devereaux via Hodges nose and the skipper made no mistake finally realising the difference between a cows ass and a goal net.?? The Hodgster then crashed a shot againts the crossbar and had that gone in a comeback may have been on the cards, however a real quality finish in the bottom corner re-addressed the chocolate mens 3 goal advantage and in true E.F.F fashion our heads dropped and we conceded 2 more quick goals, but once again we managed to find our feet again and after a half hearted penalty appeal for hand ball the ball eventually went out for a corner. Terry Mcdonald sent over the dead ball via jupiter and mars and when it finally came down with ice on it caused all sorts of confusion in the oppo's box,the ball eventually fell loose and in true Deli Alli fashion the impressive Rob Perrett was the first to pounce and crash the ball home,a great finish on Robs comeback game. So all in all there where once again good points and bad points. A 4-4-2 is looking favourite for the tour and with as many as 6 players coming back from injury or illness still a couple of weeks for them to get their fitness levels up with some 10 mile runs and Monday night training. Once again the spirit and camaraderie never goes whatever happens.
